How to Open/Close the Murphy Bed

1.

Grab the two black platform handles and pull them down towards you.

2.

When the platform is about waist height, swing the support leg around towards the ground, then lower the platform to the floor.

3.

Separate the Velcro straps that secure the mattress and tuck them under the platform so that they are out of the way.

4.

Use the pillows and bedding in the cabinet to the right of the bed. Note that the drawers can only be opened one drawer at a time; you must close one drawer before you can open another.

5.

Enjoy a good rest!

Before closing the Murphy bed, remove pillows and anything other than the sheets and one blanket, then reverse the steps above. Note that the support leg must be pressed tightly against the mattress in order for the platform to close. You may find that you have to pull down on the support leg on both sides once the mattress is vertical in order for the bed to shut completely. Do not force it shut. When departing, please leave the Murphy bed open so that I can remove the bedding for washing.

How to Open/Close the Sleeper Sofa

1.

Remove the pillows from the sofa. (You can put them in the closet to get them out of the way.)

2.

Grab the strap in the front of the sofa and pull the base up and out towards you.

3.

Remove the pillows and bed linens from the sofa base storage compartment.

4.

Lower the sofa back to complete the sleeping platform.

5.

Most people find the sleeping platform to be uncomfortably firm. For more cushioning, add the memory foam mattress topper that is stored in the back of the closet.

6.

Place the mattress pad over the foam mattress topper and make the bed as normal.

7.

Enjoy a good rest!

When departing, please leave the sofa bed open so that I can remove the bedding for washing.
